Global Business Development & Sales Director

Role Overview

Global Business Development Director oversees the Business Development Division, driving sales and global growth across all ZURU categories. Establishes, manages and drives global brand and category growth targets, working in a cross team capacity to align Product Development and MM to those targets. Responsible for commercial decision making including but not limited to pricing, P&L tracking, channel management, promotional opportunities, and instore merchandising. Manages product strategy at brand and market level in tandem with Global Business Development & Sales teams, aligning on global rollouts and allocation. Manages brand forecasting, gap analyses and market heat maps, and leads cross-team action plans. Drives in depth category and market analyses with BDS teams to identify gaps, opportunities, challenges and BDS learnings, feeding back to wider team with recommendations. Work closely with Sales management to set and deliver brand strategy to customers. Driving category development and growth across each pod. Working in tandem with Global Brand Director and Marketing Director to achieve brand and team KPIs.

Experience Desired

  • 5-8 years’ experience in Sales Account Managing or Business Management
  • Must demonstrate strong leadership ability and be able to influence and motivate cross-functional teams and hold stakeholders accountable.
  • Knowledge of business development principles including product development, brand strategy, sales account management, budgeting, and analysis.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a high attention to product quality and safety.

  • Oversee Business Development team across ZURU portfolio, accountable for brand performance and growth
  • Align with cross-functional partners including BDMs, DCP, Sales, and MMs on product development, including product launch timing, market rollout planning, FTMs, milestone planning & communication, channel mgmt. requirements, forecasting, and customized range requirements
  • Develop strategic short, mid and long term pod and brand plans– working with Management & team leaders to build out range architecture and brand strategy. across all pods.
  • Work with GBD on tri-annual SKU setting including range architecture and pricing.
  • Work with GBD, DCP and Sales on global market rollout planning including allocation and timing requirements per market and brand.
  • Work closely with global sales teams to develop bespoke strategies and plans for top accounts.
  • Work in tandem with BD&S and Marketing Directors to set pod and brand goals and strategies to driving these, along with team KPIs
  • Lead and collaborate with sales/BDM and customization teams to create customized items, packaging and pack outs for efficient channel mgmt. globally.
  • Lead brand gap analyses through each phase of forecasting, working with Sales Operations, Sales and MM teams to identify and rectify initial gaps and challenges in sell in pre-launch
  • Lead continuous brand gap analyses with BDMs and Sales teams through monthly heat map monitoring, P&Ls, KPI tracking to establish brand sell in, gaps, challenges, opportunities and ongoing profitability.
  • Lead POS analysis fortnightly across each brand with BDM, MMs and Sales to analyse sell through, challenges, learnings, successes and action plans by brand, account and market, generation recommendations and findings for presentation during team and mgmt. meetings
  • Collaborate with GBD/Sales and customization teams to create customized items, packaging and pack outs for efficient channel mgmt. globally, driving pricing, placement and profitability.
  • Lead Business Development & Sales updates at fortnightly pod meetings and monthly pod leadership updates
  • Strategically identify new global product and incremental category opportunities based on quantitative and qualitative analysis of the industry, category, and consumer behaviour.

Marketing Executive

As a Marketing Executive, you will work closely with the Senior Marketing Manager, to develop the strategy, implement and evaluate all ZURU’s communications efforts across paid, owned and earned media in our leading North American/LATAM markets. You will help produce strategic and effective campaigns for ZURU’s portfolio of brands across the girls and boys toy segments that drive brand awareness, engagement with core target audiences and profitable growth through sales conversion.

You will champion your markets within the Global Marketing Team and own every touchpoint families and kids have with our brands.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support Marketing Manager to plan annual and seasonal marketing budgets and calendars in collaboration with Sales for ZURU’s leading markets: USA.
  • Develop integrated communication strategies for each activating brand incorporating Paid Media, Instore and Online working in collaboration with Marketing Manager, Sales, Product Development, Brand Managers and retail partners to create effective and aligned plans.
  • Implement, constantly optimize and report on brand communications plans to drive short term sales alongside long term brand growth.
  • Develop relationships with local agencies, media partners, sales team and retailer buyers and marketing teams.
  • Become fully abreast of local market audience behavior, industry landscape and retailer planning to ensure strong local execution and to unlock new opportunities.
  • Localize all global assets for local needs including press releases, TV commercials, digital assets and instore merchandise etc.
  • Produce local Sales support tools to drive growth and sell-in on ZURU’s portfolio of brands including local marketing presentations, brand success stories and media updates.
  • Work directly with Brand Managers, Sales and local retailer teams to ensure our brands are represented in the best way across all retailer eCommerce sites.
  • Lead the analysis of marketing and other performance data to evaluate the effectiveness and optimize in the campaign to drive higher sales.
  • Monitor competitors in the market and understand thresholds to be competitive in USA.

Relevant Background

  • 0-2 years’ experience as Marketing or Media at an agency or client side.
  • Knowledge of US media markets and/or toy industry a big advantage.
  • Related Degree or equivalent relevant experience in Marketing or Communications preferred.
  • Fluency in English (Spanish/Portuguese is a plus)

E-Commerce Manager

As a significantly higher proportion of shoppers buy online, ZURU has been heavily investing in our back-end e-commerce capabilities over the last 2 years and are now looking to bolster our in-house e-commerce team further in order to support the continued exponential growth of our business.

We are needing an Amazon and e-commerce expert to not only build out our Amazon presence in USA but also work closely with our Marketing Managers and Sales Managers to constructively scale growth of our overall e-commerce sales in the area.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership over Amazon within the US, working collaboratively with Country Managers and Communications Manager to build our presence from the ground up in the area.
  • Working with Sales Managers closely to use Amazon as a tool to grow sales in the market, in tandem with growing our existing retail partners in the area.
  • Drive sales conversion to ZURU items through Amazon Marketing Services (Sponsored Product Ads, Headline Search Ads, Amazon Display Ads).
  • Works with Content and Design teams to produce engaging marketing assets (Videos, Imagery, Copy, eCom) that effectively deliver the brand message and drive sales.
  • Work on e-commerce specific packaging solutions to optimize profitability on your accounts, and synergize developments here across markets.
  • Work closely with Amazon Manager for Europe as well on where we can build out synergy also to optimize online review spend.
  • Use your insights/knowledge to optimize e-commerce capabilities.
  • Provides on-going cross-market learnings and solutions for growth.
  • Identifies market & customer range gaps, customer challenges and provides creative and innovative solutions to convert to sales.
  • Work with the Marketing Manager and Country Managers in specific markets to establish and execute eCom-specific strategies for other retailers.
  • Carry out other requests as required by the Senior VP of International Sales.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in Sales Account Management.
  • 2+ years’ experience working with Amazon Vendor Central (Direct Import experience preferred).
  • Previous experience of Amazon Marketing Services and the different PPC tools.
  • Previous experience working in consumer goods (toys preferably, but not a must).

National Account Manager

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the sales network and channel in US market in line with the company business strategy.
  • Present sales presentations to customers, including product demonstrations, sales data information and outline brand marketing and category strategies.
  • Negotiate with customers on pricing, packing, cargo ready date and minimum order quantity for each product line per relative market.
  • Follow up and secure PO plus TT/LC, all shipping information i.e. markings, forwarder, all testing requirements etc.
  • Keep customers updated with samples, marketing material when available and provide customers with any spec changes on relevant products.
  • Working with partners to implement marketing initiatives to support the sales of ZURU Toys
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products.
  • Provide management with accurate sales forecasts and detailed assessment of the factors influencing sales.
  • Establish and adjusts selling prices by monitoring costs, competition, and supply and demand.
  • Identify strong local partners to develop new retail and distribution channels.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with both retail and distributors in the territory.
  • Collaborate with brand managers weekly to keep up to date on NPD schedule, marketing objectives and branding alignment for the company.
  • Attend & participate in major International Trade Fairs when needed.
  • Send through all order confirmations to China Team and ensure they are raised on system effectively.
  • Provide forecast/order details for each Licensor forecast per quarter
  • Organize any deliveries for any samples sent out for your clients when needed.
  • Streamline customer database
  • Create email-marketing blasts to send to clients with any product updates.
  • Check all data on sales reports is correct.
  • Update price list when required.
  • Point of contact for client with regards to pricing issues etc.
  • Maintain and improve, where possible, all relationships with ZURU customers

Desired Skills & Attributes

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or related discipline is preferred.
  • 5+ years sales experience, with outstanding sales performance.
  • Previous Toy industry experience is required, with CRM experience.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills that could drive business effectively.
